Have you read the Red Queen series? 📖
What do you think of it?
It took me a while to finish reading the RQ series but it has surely been a worthwhile adventure. Admittedly, there were a lot of instances when I thoroughly enjoyed reading about or in the perspectives of the side characters more than the mains (lol sorry, Mare, Cal).
I feel that the ending was just right, I’m glad with the pace and direction where Mare and Cal’s relationship is going - the books did not rush into their individual healing. Evangeline, our sassy iron lady, is finally living without her heart in the shadows (well, hello, Elane) and out for her parents’ suffocating grip. Farley, ever strong and determined, proves there is so much more she can achieve, for the cause and for Clara; with the entire Barrow family on her side. Kilorn just makes me proud, he learned and rose to his ranks; tho I honestly wish that his character was painted a little more vividly.
However, my eternally biased liking for Maven makes me think that he deserves better 🤷♀️ Our beautiful, broken, blue-eyed boy, Maven Calore - the tragic and tormented villain. I was fervently wishing for his character’s redemption (and did get some, no matter how short and small in his Broken Throne chapter, Farewell)!!
P.S. The books have really gorgeous covers! Broken Throne is extra nice with all the maps and Julian’s notes; and the text in purple 🤭😉

This collection of novellas is perfect to cap off your hangover from the Red Queen series! I was craving to know more about the other characters and I just got what I wanted (and perhaps more) from these novellas. Thoroughly enjoyed Evangeline, Coriane, Farley, and Ashe’s perspectives; Cal’s and Mare’s offered a certain kind of peace and healing; while Maven’s part broke my heart anew.
Have you had the chance to read while on quarantine? 📖
I was in a slump for the past few months and actually thought I could catch up with my reading while staying at home but that still proved difficult until May came.
Tough past few weeks for everyone, everywhere, but I hope you have been coping up well and are managing some progress into your TBRs (however, not being able to is nothing to be guilty about! :)
Stay well!📖 🌟

How are you all doing, dears? 💕
It’s a tough time for everyone and I hope you are holding up well and are safe 😷
I just finished reading my first book for the year as I have been quite busy with work and school 😭🙃 so it took me a while to get to the last book of the Red Queen series 😓 Now I have a major Maven Calore sepanx, and I feel like I need to know more about the other characters (Evangeline! Farley!) But I do feel quite satisfied with the ending, especially with Mare 💕 I appreciate that she was given the chance to make her own choices and heal in her own time.
What have you read so far this first quarter of 2020? 😊

This book broke my heart a lot but the quote above from Maven broke my heart a little more than the rest. Elara has taken so much from Maven he’s not even sure which part of himself actually belongs to him 💔 No children ever deserve such treatment just so they can fulfill their parents’ desires! 😭😤 Tho it explains why he ended up on such path, it does not really excuse him from his actions and the consequences thereafter. I’m quite glad that Mare gets a glimpse of his past to help understand him and to help her to decide on how to handle her feelings for Maven. The book was quite slow at the beginning, but it helped paint the days Mare spent within her gilded cage. I honestly enjoyed her exchanges with Maven. Mare’s character grew a lot, it’s good to know that she’s stopped feeling sorry for herself and started letting people in again. The last scene with Cal is my favorite of her yet (Cal’s character has yet to grow on me tho 💁♀️) .
Another thing I found quite refreshing with King’s Cage is reading from the perspective of other characters (Cameron & Evangeline), and I hope the next book features more of the other characters’ voices too (Farley, please!).
It’s such a shame I didn’t get to bring the next book with me 😭
Happy New Year, dears! 💕🎉
I hope the past decade has been good to you and that the next one will only be better 💜
Here’s to more books and more time to read this 2020 🍷📖🥰

How are your holidays going? 🥰
Finally getting some reading done while on vacay, and I’m glad I picked this series up. ☺️
While some parts tend to be slow and dragging, the ending kinda makes up for it. Here also goes our twisted love for broken boys with blue eyes, because no matter how vile Maven seems, I just love him 😭 I look forward to how his character will develop in the next books. 💜 Mare, our feisty lightning girl , grew on me while reading book 2. ⚡💕She’s shaky at worst, brave at best; and she cannot be anymore human than she already is; with her doubts, insecurities, and her constant and conscious effort to steel herself and her heart. I did not actually expect what happened to her at the end of Glass Sword; will jump straight to book 3 to see what comes next for Mare.

Happy holidays, dearies! 🥰
Been gone for a while because of work and school but I am hoping to catch up with my reading this break – starting with the Red Queen series. Have you read the RQ? What are your thoughts about it?

Blue and her Raven Boys – oh how I love them even more in this reread 💕
As always, I adore Blue for her eccentricity and sensibility (she hates the description, but she just is very sensible! ;D I love how she just fit right with the four of them – Gansey, Adam, Roan, and Noah – the Gangsey. 💜
Gansey, what a delicate soul, I adore him for the way he cares for his friends. There’s also this part of him that is sometimes way too careful (mostly of what he says) to avoid unintentionally hurting his friends – though I love the way he speaks, actually, really eloquent .
Adam, dear, I am so soft for Adam. I mean, I just want to hug him. His character carries so much baggage, my heart aches! I cannot wait to see more of him on the next books.
Ronan, for all his rough exterior and devilish handsomeness, is actually sooooft and just fiercely protective! I mean did you see how he cared for Chainsaw? Gosh, I love Ronan Lynch and I am so excited for Dream Thieves because there’s more of him!!!
And, darling, Noah. He’s pretty much always just in the background but having him in the circle simply completes it. I love the way he acts toward Blue, especially how he pats her head like a dear little sister.
